2nd City Showdown: All Boys Hype Nation Tournament Recap

Hype Nation hosted their first all-boys event of the season, the 2nd City Showdown in Bedford Park, Illinois. The event was held at the SFM-managed Wintrust Sports Complex over the weekend as they welcomed 140 teams and over 1,000 spectators.

“Despite the frigid temperatures and snow storm 48 hours before the event, our team enjoyed spending time in the Chicagoland area for our very first all-boys tournament,” said Troy Helton, Hype Nation Partner. “The 2nd City Showdown was a huge success, and we look forward to bringing more boys tournaments to our 2023 lineup.”

Among the winning teams, Hype Nation was proud to present scholarships to teams through the AAU volleyball program. The sponsorship includes buying the entry fee to the AAU National Tournament for teams that won open divisions. Congratulations, guys!

Hype Nation would like to extend a special thank you and shout out to two of our event sponsors. Mikasa for providing the tournament balls for all games and 431 Sports who provided all of the champion medals. Without the support of our sponsors, we wouldn’t be given the opportunity to work with other exceptional industry partners! Below is a list of the division champions from the 2nd City Showdown.
